Endowments & Named Grants

September 9, 2024 — JONESBORO – The Kays Foundation has made a lasting commitment to future students of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Arkansas State University. The Kays Foundation Endowment for Veterinary Excellence will be a $534,000 endowment. “The Kays Foundation has supported A-State for over a century. One of the first gifts made to what was then the First District State Agricultural School was a herd of registered cattle to be used in animal husbandry courses,” said Lucinda McDaniel, president of the Kays Foundation board. McDaniel said with the foundation’s history of providing livestock to A-State, board members found it appropriate to create an endowment to help the future CVM. Read more here

April 5, 2023 — JONESBORO – The Kays Foundation has made a $450,000 committment to establish The Kays Foundation Scarlet to Black Program for Financial Independence. February 2, 2016 — JONESBORO – The Kays Foundation has made a $50,000 gift commitment to the Bradbury Art Museum (BAM) at Arkansas State University. The grant was awarded to assist the museum with obtaining matching funds and to endow and name the Kays Gallery, a new exhibition space within the museum. See more

March 26, 2007 — JONESBORO–The Arkansas State University Alumni Association today announced a major gift from the Kays Foundation of Jonesboro for the Cooper Alumni Center. Their gift of $300,000 will provide funds for the alumni center’s Board Room which will be named in honor of V. C. Kays, V. H. Kays and the Kays Foundation in recognition of the significant contributions of the Kays family and the Kays Foundation to the growth and development of Arkansas State University. More

The Kays Foundation is a private, nonprofit foundation supporting ASU by providing grants to support faculty, staff, departments, colleges, or other entities in order to further the teaching, research, and service goals of Arkansas State University.
