The Kays Foundation awarded $78,879.00 for the fall grant cycle. Grants were awarded to three Arkansas State University Faculty Members.
Mr. Marty Scarbrough, program director, KASU, received an award in the amount of $5,000.00 for the “Arkansas Roots Music Collection” to purchase vintage LP records and CDs, featuring Arkansas music bands and musical acts, for the stations library. The goal is to present the music produced by in-state artists on the broadcasts of “Arkansas Roots,”. which showcases all genre of Arkansas artist.
Mr. Andrew Thrasher, University Police, recieved funding for “University Police Equimpent Upgrade” in the amount of $28,879.00. The grant will assist with purchasing new equipment, supplies and training courses for the Arkansas State University Police department.
Dr. L. Todd Hammon, associate professor of nurse anesthesia and program director, recieved funding for the “21st Century Simulation Enhancement for the 21st Century Nurse Anesthesia Student” in the amount of $45,000.00. The grant will assist with purchasing training equipment designed to provide more realistic scenarios, helping students learn procedures more quickly and to become more successful on their first attempts in the clinical area.
