The Kays Foundation awarded $78,879.00 for the fall grant cycle.
Grants were awarded to three Arkansas State University Faculty Members.
Mr. Marty Scarbrough, program director, KASU, received the first grant in the amount of $5,000.00 for the proposal “Arkansas Roots Music Collection” He will use the grant funds to purchase additional vintage LP records and CDs, featuring Arkansas music Bands, for the KASU station library. The goal is to show case and present the music produced by in-state artists during broadcasts of “Arkansas Roots,”
Mr. Thrasher, University Police, received the second grant titled “University Police Equipment Upgrade” in the amount of $28,879.00. The Funds will be used to upgrade equipment, training, and safety for the ASU University Police Department.
Dr. L. Todd Hammon, associate professor of nurse anesthesia and program director, received the third grant “21st Century Simulation Enhancement for the 21st Century Nurse Anesthesia Student” in the amount of $45,000.00. Funds will be used to assist with purchasing training equipment designed to provide more realistic scenarios, helping students learn procedures more quickly and to become more successful in the clinical area. The new equipment will be more suitable for the 21st century student.
